A tragic fire broke out in the casualty ward of Kozhikode Medical College Hospital around 8 PM on Friday, resulting in the deaths of at least four people and the emergency evacuation of over 200 patients. Authorities are yet to confirm whether the deaths were caused by smoke inhalation or natural causes, as the postmortem reports are awaited. Firefighters quickly contained the blaze, preventing further damage. Hospital staff and emergency responders acted swiftly to evacuate patients and medical equipment. Health Minister Veena George has ordered an inquiry and is scheduled to visit the hospital to assess the situation.
