IBERIA 🇪🇸 NEW A350-900 | Santiago de Chile - Madrid | Premium Economy ✈

Welcome back! This time we will fly IBERIA Premium Economy from Santiago de Chile to Madrid on one of their newer Airbus A350-900's!
This was my first time flying on an Airbus A350 and it truly is a comfortable and smooth plane. The cabin is very quiet, even during takeoff. I love how the high ceilings and the huge windows give a spacious look to the cabin. The on-board entertainment system is very intuitive and comes with a wide content of movies, series, and much more.
The Premium Economy seat is very comfortable and has lots of legroom, a footrest, a great recline angle, and an adjustable headrest. The 2-4-2 seat layout in the Premium Economy cabin allows for greater width in each seat, especially in the window seats. A complimentary blanket and pillow can be found on each seat upon boarding. One thing I liked to see is that IB no longer wraps the blankets and pillows in a disposable plastic bag, but they use a simple recycled paper-cardboard strip instead. You also find (reusable) metal cutlery in the main meal tray and they are gradually opting for cardboard cups instead of plastic ones. During boarding, the crew handed out a set of noise-canceling headphones as well as an amenity kit to each passenger in the Premium Economy. A welcome drink was offered too, with a choice of orange juice or water.
A hot dinner was served soon after takeoff. The starter consisted of a small couscous salad with vegetables. I was able to try the two main course options that were offered. The first option was Braised beef steak with sautéed spinach and pumpkin puree; and the second option (vegetarian) was Pappardelle pasta with cheese and mushrooms. The dessert consisted of a lemon cake. It was an extraordinarily good dinner. Perhaps my only suggestion would be to include a small aperitif service before the main meal, as many other airlines do even in Economy, and even more so when it comes to Premium Economy. The crew handed out bottles of water to the Premium economy passengers after dinner service. During the central hours of the flight, a small stand was set up with snacks and drinks in the galleys.
During the flight, we crossed several areas of turbulence over Brazil and the Atlantic Ocean. The crossing of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which I explain in the video, was quite turbulent, and the seat belt signed remained on for quite a few hours.
About 1 hour before landing, a pre-arrival snack was served, consisting of a warm ham & cheese croissant, a chocolate bar, a yogurt, and an almond cookie, along with a drink of your choice.
The crew delivered a professional and efficient service throughout the flight. However, as I mention in the video, they were quite unfriendly and didn't seem to be enjoying their job at all. I was told off by one flight attendant for crossing the galley on my way to where my family was sitting in Economy class, and something similar happened to my father later on the flight when he asked for a glass of water after the meal service. I was also struck by how the crew member who was in charge of my section did not bother to communicate in English with several non-Spanish-speaking passengers who were seated near me during the meal services. She did not try to speak to them in English at any point... which was kind of awkward. Come on Iberia!
I totally understand that being a cabin crew must have its difficulties and that it should not be easy to deal with so many people in such a small space, but I believe that professional training must consist precisely of knowing how to show a good attitude and manners despite the difficulties of the job. My only intention in sharing this is that these gestures and perceptions do not spoil the great and efficient work of the many other professionals in the airline.
With all that said, I hope you have enjoyed this Flight Experience and I hope to see you in the next video! Stay tuned! :)
THANK YOU for watching and remember to SUBSCRIBE! :D
