2027 BOMBSHELL! Peter Obi Emerges Most Popular Candidate Across Nigeria – SBM Report

A new survey by SBM Intelligence, one of Africa's leading market intelligence and security analysis firms, has delivered a major political surprise ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
According to the survey of 829 respondents across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones, former Anambra State governor and NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, recorded the strongest national favourability rating among all leading political figures assessed.
The report shows Obi with a positive net favourability score of 58.3, while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu records a negative net favourability score of -58.5, the lowest among the candidates surveyed.
Even more striking is the finding that Peter Obi leads in the South West, widely regarded as President Tinubu's political stronghold. The survey also projects that the NDC's vote share could rise dramatically from 32% in a low-turnout election to as high as 65% if voter turnout increases significantly.
