GPT-5.5 New AI Model and Benchmarks

GPT-5.5 is out and OpenAI is finally making a real push for models you can use in actual work.

- GPT-5.5 crushes it for research tasks, business documentation, and general workflows. It’s fast, reliable, and feels like a genuine upgrade over the last version.
- But it still doesn’t beat Anthropic everywhere. SWE Bench Pro? Anthropic is still ahead. For serious codebase refactoring or agentic coding, I’m still defaulting to Opus 4.7.
- OpenAI is rolling GPT-5.5 out to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users — so if you’re using ChatGPT or Code Interpreter (codecs), you can try it yourself.

Bottom line: If you’re doing heavy research or workflow automation, GPT-5.5 is probably your new default. But if you need serious coding help, don’t ditch Anthropic yet.
