A major political showdown is expected in the upcoming Parliament session over the Women’s Reservation Bill.

The government plans to introduce a new version of the bill that includes a delimitation clause and proposes increasing the strength of the Lok Sabha from 543 to 850 seats.

Opposition parties have united to oppose this move, saying it may change constituencies unfairly and affect the balance of power.

However, the opposition has clearly stated that they support 33% reservation for women within the existing seats.

Now, the government faces the challenge of finding a middle path to pass the bill.
