How To Permanently Turn Off The WordPress Fullscreen Edit Mode

This quick code snippet will permanently turn off and disable the annoying full screen WordPress edit mode that was introduced in WordPress 5.4.

If you are as annoyed as I am with the changes that came in WordPress 5.4, then this snippet is for you! I’m going to show you how to permanently disable the fullscreen mode that is unfortunately turned on by default when editing posts and pages in WordPress.

All we have to do to disable the WordPress fullscreen editor is to add the provided code snippet to your Divi child theme. If you don’t have one yet, you can use our basic free child theme (linked in the post).

Paste the snippet, and that’s all you have to do! Now you won’t be bothered by it, and it should never show up again when you create new posts or pages!
