KMB Bus Hits Tree, Shattering Upper-Deck Windows

A bus collision involving a tree occurred in Sheung Shui this morning. At approximately 8:00 am today (6th), a Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) operating on route 277E was travelling along Ching Hiu Road. As it approached Ching Ho Estate, the vehicle collided with a roadside tree that was leaning towards the carriageway.

The impact immediately shattered the windows on the left side of the upper deck, showering the seats with glass shards. A passenger who had been asleep at the time was startled awake by a loud bang, recalling: “It was terrifying; I was completely covered in shattered glass.” The passenger reported minor abrasions but noted that wearing long trousers had protected them from further harm. Rushing to get to work, the commuter paid another HK$5 to board the next 277E bus. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
