Tokyo State of Emergency: Friday Nightlife - iPhone 12 Pro Max w/ Moment 18mm Lens Test

As Tokyo entered it's 2nd state of emergency, restaurants and bars were asked to close by 8pm. So I took a stroll through the popular Friday nightlife area between Yurakucho station to Shimbashi station around 8:15pm. Mostly all stores were closed, and the streets were very dark and quiet. This is the emptiest I've ever seen these areas on a Friday night. It really felt more like a monday evening.

After being on backorder since November 2020, I finally received the 18mm lens from Moment to test out. I've heard from some viewers that they thought that having the extra lens to cover ambient lights would help to reduce the amount of green ghosting blob dancing around the screen. Unfortunately, this lens did not help in the slightest. I love the 18mm field of view compared to the natural 26mm, which in my opinions is too tight. The quality of the picture with the 18mm lens over the main sensor is better than the 14mm ultrawide camera on the iPhone 12, but with the extra glass over the main camera, the quality is a bit blurrier than without it. Not sure if this is all due to the glass on the 18mm lens, or the fact that it blocks the lidar sensor, potentially throwing off focus.

I'm not sure yet if I will keep this lens yet, but the main issue is still the horrendous green blobs dancing all over the video. They are very distracting, and am still in disbelief that something like this existing on Apple's flagship phone.
