Tecnam p2010 is more comparable to a Cessna 182 in performance, space and wing loading. That is according to Shannon Yeager. From my last upload of the P2010. Here is a follow up video that gives more in detail about the capabilities and flying characteristics of the Tecnam P2010.

Frankly anything thought or said about the P2010 will be in comparison to Cessna’s high wing airplanes; namely the 172 and 182 models. It looks like a Cessna 172 and shares an identical power plant in the Lycoming IO-360. Also both aircraft come standard with a fixed pitch 2-bladed propeller. Still Tecnam thinks it’s a class up from the 172 and more like a Cessna 182. When you think of the cabin space, and the fact that you can upgrade to a more powerful engine, then perhaps we can think of the P2010 more as a 182 rival. Except the P201O comes in much cheaper that a 172 or 182.

The Tecnam p2010 can be used as a trainer aircraft. Although some training facilities have made their own comparison, and favor the rugged build of the Cessna 172. Time will tell if this modern airplane does have a chance.
