MIM-18 Ice Maker - How to replace the Ice Forming Tray

Use these instructions when your ice maker is no longer forming ice. And both the Add Water and Ice Full indicator lights are on. You can obtain a replacement "Ice Forming Tray" from us by contacting our Customer Support at info@maxi-matic.com or via Live Chat on our website: www.maxi-matic.com. If your ice maker is still under warranty, the tray is free of charge. Please always have a copy of your order confirmation for validation of the warranty.

The steps below may seem extensive but it is mostly just removing many screws. There is no electrical work involved.

DIRECTIONS:
- Turn your ice maker upside down. On the bottom of the ice maker, remove the 8 screws along the edge that holds the back panel of the ice maker. The panel will come off easily.
- Then remove the Lid by removing the 5 screws holding it in place. The lid will lift off but a wire will remain connected to it. Do not disconnect this wire.
- Locate the Ice Forming Tray. It is held in place on the sides of it by a Motor on the right side and a Toggle on the left.
- Remove the 4 screws next to the motor. Take off the motor.
- And remove the one screw next to the Toggle. Use a flat head screw driver to pop out that toggle carefully.
- Remove the Metal Ice Forming rods by unscrewing the screw to the right of it. Lift up gently so the rods are out of the way.
- Using a flat head screw driver again, insert it into the hole where the Motor was and push in to loosen the Tray. It will pop out. Set aside.
- Now you can insert the new tray. Insert the tray from the left side first. And then carefully pop the right side in. That's it.
- Screw the motor back on with the four screws.
- Snap the Toggle back onto the left side and reattach with the single screw.
- Gently push down on the Metal Rods and reattach with the single screw.
- Remember to insert that small plastic piece over that Toggle piece.
- Align the lid back into the closed position. Reattach the 5 screws.
- Align the outer panel to the ice maker and reattach it with the 8 screws. (Not shown in video.)
