This Mercedes C250 CGI came in driving normal… until it got hot.

After accelerating and coming to a stop, the whole engine started shaking badly at idle. Turn it off, restart it, and it ran perfectly again.

Fault codes stored:

P001762 – Exhaust camshaft position implausible relative to crankshaft
P030100 – Cylinder 1 misfire detected
P031300 – Misfire with low fuel reserve signal
P017222 – Mixture Bank 1 too rich

At first glance this looked like timing chain, camshaft fault, injector, or ignition coil trouble…
