Director Sydney Pollack on TOOTSIE
Sydney Pollack, director of TOOTSIE, discusses the character of Michael Dorsey/Dorothy Michaels, played by Dustin Hoffman, and how they were trying to avoid "farce" while making the film. TOOTSIE was released in the US on December 17, 1982, was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, winning one (Best Actress in a Supporting Role) for Jessica Lange.
