The length and size of the wire to use depends on the size of the stone you want to make.

Back side wire: use a wire with a diameter of 0.8mm - 1mm (20 gauge - 18 gauge) , length = stone circumference + 3cm

Front side wire: should use a wire with a diameter of 0.3mm - 0.5mm ( 28 gauge - 24 gauge) for easy manipulation, length = 5 times the diameter of the stone.
You can use as many strands wire as you want (4,5,6 strands) and the same technique can be applied to other stone shapes.

Use tape to fix the wire to the stone, making it easier to handle.

In the video I use :
19 gauge ( wire diameter 0.9mm ) : 9cm( 3,5 inch)
26 gauge ( wire diameter 0.4mm ) : 5 strands, each of which is 10cm long ( 4 inch)
Round cabochon diameter of 2 cm

*** Don't be discouraged if you don't succeed the first time, with the new template, I have to try many times before it succeeds, even if it's a simple one.
