No criminal charges in RCMP shooting involving a Bobcat loader

An RCMP officer who shot a man on a Bobcat loader in Duncan, B.C. will not face criminal charges. Davin Cochrane was confronted by police after reports that someone was operating the construction vehicle while impaired. It happened in Duncan B.C. in 2023. The machine collided with several RCMP vehicles in a neighbourhood park before the officer opened fire. Cochrane was taken to hospital in critial condition and has since been released. The independent investigations office of B.C. sent a recommendation to prosecutors to consider a weapons charge against the officer. However the prosecution service says the evidence didn't meet its standard for charges.
