Q: Why not just use your phone?
A: You could just use your phone, but this comes in handy when your phone is occupied by navigation, or if you just want to leave your phone in your pocket. It's always on, so you don't need to go through the process of unlocking your phone and opening Spotify. Yes, certain map apps do integrate with Spotify, but sometimes you will not have those applications open.

Q: How did you get it?
A: Just hit that link at the top, and click "Get Car Thing". Keep in mind, you'll need to be a Spotify Premium subscriber, and be the account owner if you're in a family plan. When I signed up, I was put on a wait list and the device was shipped a couple of months later.

Q: How does it work?
A: A misconception people have is that Car Thing streams directly to your car's stereo system. This is not the case. Your phone is needed to operate as the 'source' of audio. Car Thing has no 3.5mm jack, nor does it connect to your car via Bluetooth. Car Thing is simply an extension of your phone.

Q: Can I get calls or will navigation instructions come through?
A: Yes, all audio on your phone will come through you car speakers normally.

A: Yes, the screen refresh rate is very slow, but in practice, I actually don't mind it too much. I think the convenience of the device far outweighs the laggy screen. But obviously, it would be a much nicer product if the screen was smoother, and some people will probably find it to be more annoying than others. I guess I just don't mind it that much! Most of the time, it's displaying the 'Now Playing' screen.
