Hundreds of UK horses are currently being exported and imported at our ports without any form of health or documentation checks. Travelling to Europe, these animals can be sold to anyone, for any purpose. At crowded markets they will change hands, perhaps more than once. Some will go to slaughter, some will stay in Europe and others will be bought only to return yet again to the UK, where the process begins all over again.

On this cruel Merry-Go-Round of Pain, horses are exposed to disease, neglect and exhaustion, undergoing many miles of unnecessary journeys. We fought hard to ensure that Britain could protect its horses, but the laws we helped to create are not being enforced. Without you, we cannot continue to pay for monitoring at our UK ports.
