Feeding Rescued Baby Penguin

This young penguin was found starving on a New Zealand beach. A kind person brought him to our animal sanctuary. Freddie's internal organs had begun to shut down, and there was blood in his feces. The experts say that starving penguins under 500 grams cannot survive. Freddie is a miracle. He only weighed 390 grams.. but with careful treatment and care, he lived!! He's the first we know of to survive from such a low starvation weight. Look at him gobbling up fish, now that he can handle solid food. He won't be returned to the wild until he weighs at least a kilo, so he has a way to go. But we're confident he'll make it. He
