Bush accused Iraq and it's dictator Saddam Hussein of having weapons of mass destruction. The Bush administration claimed Iraq was in defiance of United Nations resolutions set up after the first Gulf War in 1990, and that not only did Iraq have the weapons but would more than likely use them against the United States or it's allies. The conflict officially lasted 8 years.
