On June 15, 2026, a Pakistan Air Force PAC MFI-395 Super Mushshak trainer aircraft crashed in the Sawaldher area of Katlang tehsil, Mardan district, during a routine training sortie. The aircraft was destroyed. ISPR confirmed Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi were martyred in the crash, and a Board of Inquiry was constituted by Air Headquarters to determine the cause. Pakistan's Army Chief, all services chiefs, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar expressed deep grief and condolences to the bereaved families. 🕊️

The PAC MFI-395 Super Mushshak is Pakistan's pride in aviation engineering — a military trainer and light attack aircraft manufactured entirely at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) in Kamra. Developed in 1995 as an upgrade of the MFI-17, the Super Mushshak features a 260hp Lycoming engine, dual flight controls, a service ceiling of 22,000 feet, a max speed of 270 km/h, and a range of 815 km.
