The Republican Party 'loves Trump': Former president hints at 2024 White House run

Former President Donald Trump has again hinted he will run for the presidency in 2024, telling Vanity Fair the polls show the Republican base overwhelmingly support him.

"I’ll be making a decision at some point. I will say this: Based on the polls, those polls are great, the Republican Party loves Trump. Ninety-seven per cent!” he said.

The poll he is referring to is the one conducted by Trump pollster John McLaughlin of 1,336 Conservative Political Action Conference attendees, which found Ninety-seven per cent supported Mr Trump's presidency.

A slew of recent polls have also found Mr Trump is the overwhelming favourite to win the Republican presidential nominee for the 2024 election.
