Algonquin Provincial Park
Algonquin is Ontario’s oldest provincial park, and popular among seasoned campers, backpackers and canoeists. With its area of 7653 sq kms, there are so many places in the park to experience its mystery, see wildlife in their natural habitat at a safe & respectful distance, and yet as they say, this is also the place where you can spend a lifetime getting to know it.
True enough, in getting to know this magnificent beauty—is pretty special for us, as it is our first time to canoe where we didn’t really know where we were going exactly, given there was a map with us. We were just two little buttons canoeing one of its beautiful serene lakes.
It is such a wonderful experience to see the beauty of Algonquin, the call of a mama loon with 2 ducklings wading by her, perhaps the howl of a wolf (not sure if I heard it right!), it was amazing!
And the solitude in the middle of nowhere is the icing on the cake!
We are definitely coming back in Autumn to see more of Algonquin’s vibrant beauty.
