Egypt’s FA-50 Fighter Jet Deal with South Korea | Defense News Update

Egypt is in discussions to acquire 100 FA-50 fighter jets from South Korea, strengthening its air force capabilities. The FA-50, a light combat aircraft developed by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, offers Mach 1.5 speed, a range of 2,592 km, and advanced combat features.

This deal could enhance Egypt’s defense strategy and reinforce military ties between Cairo and Seoul. The FA-50 is competing with the Chinese L-15 and Italian M-346, but its compatibility with the F-16 fleet gives it a strategic advantage.
