KARAOKE SOUL - Channel 4 First Cut
Karaoke Soul, the second film in C4's slot for first-time documentary makers screened in 2007, came about when film-maker Joshua Neale was in a pub on karaoke night. He was blown away by a man in his 50s singing “We Are The Champions”, not because of his voice - he was an average singer - but because of the emotional input he was giving it. Peter became the main character in Joshua’s film about people who let it all out through karaoke. Set in the Swan Hotel in Chorley, Lancashire and narrated by pub landlord Terry, it's a beautifully made film.
