The other day i discussed heaven and the moon. There’s a fun fan theory that perhaps hints that roo is actually on the moon. Let me explain.

So some fans theorised that the moon is actually the hazbin hotel universe’s version of purgatory. It could be the place that hell’s most dangerous sinners are confined to. The most evil of them all being roo.

During a sound design video for the hazbin pilot made by a team member in 2020, in the sequence when alastor glitches the text says “The Radio has told us there it lives behind the moon something sleeps there and cares not for our affairs”

During stayed gone, vox uses the moon as the breaking news. And inside alastor’s store we see a globe of the moon.

You could also tie the alastor’s game song into this, with the line “I am the nightmare on the dark side of the moon”

Maybe Roo is trapped in purgatory on the moon. Maybe that’s where alastor trapped all the previous overlords that he toppled.

Honestly i think this theory is really fun, and i think the moon’s role in the series has been kept deliberately vague for a reason.
