Real-Life Disney Castle: Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany in 4K Ultra HD

The Neuschwanstein Castle is one of the most popular places to visit in Germany. About 1.5 Mio people from all over the world visit Neuschwanstein Castle every year. The famous Castle is also called "the castle of the fairy-tale king".

Neuschwanstein castle was built in the second half of the 19th century by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. He was also named as Fairytale-King, since he loved architecture and dreamy castles. It is one of several castles of Ludwig II, that are today major attractions for visitors in Bavaria, Germany.

Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public. The shy king had built the castle in order to withdraw from public life – now vast numbers of people came to view his private refuge.

The setting of Neuschwanstein could not be more idyllic. However, movement in the foundation area has to be continuously monitored, and the sheer rock walls must be repeatedly secured. The harsh climate also has a detrimental effect on the limestone façades, which will have to be renovated section by section over the next few years.

The castle is considered to have been the inspiration for the Disney castles in Disneyland, Disney World in Orlando and the movie Cinderella.

Recorded in 4K Ultra HD.
