Great Wolf Lodge Art Car

Rootlab was absolutely chuffed to be asked to create our first Orange Show art car for Great Wolf Lodge! We won the Best Commercial Art Car award!

To kick off the project, our team concept designed several ideas to present to the GWL team. They fell in love with the idea of rendering their Wiley the Wolf character out of reclaimed wood. Towards the end of that meeting someone said “let’s add a slide to the back!” We thought it was just crazy enough to work so we ran with it.

We bought a 2002 Ford Ranger with sick rims and began the process of transforming the little truck in to a rolling artwork!

After design it took our team of sculptors about two and a half weeks from raw truck to finished wolf truck. Outside of the CNC cut plywood substructure, the entire build used 100% reclaimed materials from our shop and from around town including scrap fence boards, cutoffs and leftover foam from previous projects.

Big thanks to the entire Great Wolf Lodge team for bringing us this project. It was a rare one that reminded us of our roots and how good it feels to just make something fun!
