HO Scale Layout Malfunction! NMRA National Train Show 2017

Continuing coverage from the National Model Railroad Association National Train Show in Orlando, Florida.

Originally I was going to compile this into the forthcoming 'layouts' video, but I thought this little episode was remarkable it warranted its own video. As you see not all layouts run perfectly to plan. The Digitrax-powered ECHOES layout is indeed no exception, and some screw-up definitely got on my nerves on Sunday when I experimented the extra long Florida East Coast Train 202.

As far as length and pull, the train did fine. But for some reason, the controller saw fit to randomly either accelerate the train to Speed Step 99 (recklessly fast), reverse and accelerate it (big no no), or halt it. I couldn't figure out why though and need y'all's help.

Possible outcomes include the conflict with other layouts. But FECNTrak was the only possible layout in conflict, and they did not have an 817 nor 820 running. One could question the possibility of an ECHOES member hitting 'steal' on the controller. Only adults were running and a member with good interests in the club would not intentionally cause the tie-up and derailment that you see, LOL.

Who knows.

Anyway, whatever the mysterious cause, I hope you enjoy this rather unique runby compilation.
