Nathaniel Williford - Watch out!

Once upon a time, there was a young boy named Nathaniel Williford who taught himself to play the trumpet (and trombone) without a single lesson. At age 14, after just 2 ½ years of study, he went to the ITG conference and met Adam Rapa & Ashlin Parker. Turns out he’d already managed to discover how to play with the exact same technique as Adam (on his own!), and was playing circles around many, many other (far older and well-studied) trumpeters there. Mind-blown(🤯!!!), Adam and Ashlin spoke with Trent Austin about donating a horn to this little phenom, since his horn was garbage. Trent agreed in a heartbeat. ❤ Adam also gave the young lad 2 mouthpieces; 1 for all-around playing and 1 for high-note playing, which he’s already able to do astoundingly well. Many people smiled😃, some cried happy tears😂, and some cried tears of envy😩, knowing that this kid’s unique combination of talent and work ethic were going to propel him to a level of greatness few people will ever achieve. 🌟 Nathaniel was also connected with some of the most important players in Florida, who will hopefully not screw him up with dogma, but rather give him gigs! 💰
