The Dark Room - Electrical Fault Finding

In this episode I was called out to do electrical fault finding in a photography studio in Hackney. The customer was experiencing some unusual effects to some of the equipment in the studio.

After a few pieces of equipment stopped working he decided to run an extension lead to the equipment and call me out to have a look at the circuit to determine if the circuit was safe for the public's use and whether the equipment itself was faulty.

The first thing I did was check all the sockets on the circuit to see if there were any loose connections that may be the cause of the problem. But the connections were generally good.

So I went on to do a number of tests including the loop impedance test and got some interesting results.
