Lucius Artorius Castus' sarcophagus was found in Podstrana in the church of Saint Martin. Lucius Castus was a soldier, centurion, dux legion, and finally a prefect of the Roman navy. After the end of his military career, he was named Procurator of Liburnia, which is the governor of today's Dalmatia.
He truly saw the most of the old world, from Judea, Parthia, Budapest, Italy, and finally Britain, where his victories won him the status of a legend. His final resting place is here, in Podstrana.
