How To Make The Terrifier 2 Sword - Concept To Creation - Metal Casting Tutorial

In this video I will be showing you how to make the sword from the movie Terrifier 2 in solid metal. I started by modeling the sword using Blender and then 3D printed it using one of my 3D printers. Once the model was finished printing, I sanded down all the pieces before glueing them all together. I primed and painted the sword after to give it a nice smooth finish. I then made a mold of the sword using petrobond sand. This left a perfect impression to pour in the molten metal. I melted down some scrap aluminum ingots from a previous project and poured the metal into the mold. The aluminum sword was then cleaned up using numerous tools and sanding discs. I finished it off by painting the handle and applying gold flake around the trim. I then used clear acrylic to make sure the the paint and flake does not chip off and to give it a nice shiny finish.
