A day exploring the city of Bruges - Belgium
In this video - we arrive in the historic Belgium City of Bruges. With just one day in this wonderful city we want to see as much as we can.

We started the day by finding some free parking about 20 minutes walk from the city centre. First stop is always the tourist information office, where we collected a map of the city and got some good tips of what to see. We also dressed up and took the picture for this videos thumbnail.

Chocolate Chocolate and Chocolate - yes one of the things Belgium is famous for and you're not short of shops in Bruges. We found a shop selling chocolates called 'Trudy" (the name of our campervan) so couldn't resist buying a few. We were recommended to try some local shops and headed to The Chocolate Line created by Dominique Persoone. What a shop - Dominique created the Chocolate Line and travelled the world in a Landrover looking for the best chocolate beans and the shop is the coolest chocolate shop we have ever visited. You can even see them making some.

We enjoyed a walk around the main square in Bruges the Market Square before seeking out a must try - Belgium Waffles -- mmm they were delicious.

A short walk and we were in Burg square - a wonderful square with very historic buildings including the town hall, Place of the Liberty (halls of justice) and the Chapel of the Blood.

A walk around Bruges wouldn't be complete without a walk along the canals. Wonderful and reminded us of a previous visit to Venice.

We also tried another Bruges must - Frites or as we call them chips. They sell them everywhere from plain with mayonnaise or rich beef gravy or even more adventurous flavours.

We finished our day looking at the large Plastic Blue Whale Statue. It is made our of 5 tons of plastic waste from the Pacific Ocean and aims to be a visual representation of the plastic waste problems of our oceans.
