How to Make Paper Hinges

Gothic Wrought Iron Hinges - Free Cricut Maker Miniature Project

Tiny Hinges are expensive and most still end up looking too thick for most miniature or scale model projects...

I've been pondering this problem for quite some time, and just KNEW that The Cricut Maker could be used to solve this issue, AND to make it possible for use to crank out multiple hinges whenever needed.

After LOTS of prototyping, this preliminary design is complete and ready to share with the world!

Here are the Cricut Design Space settings that worked on my Maker - yours is probably different, so tweak the settings to suit your situation:

Faux Wrought Iron Hinges - Cardstock

​​1 sheet of 8.5 x 11" 65lb Cardstock
​​​​Fine Point Blade
Standard Grip Mat - no tape
​​Pressure: 196
​​Cutting Passes: 3x
​​Cut Time: 14.5 Minutes

The default sizing is roughly scaled to work with 1:12 Scale Miniatures - Dollhouse Scale.

Each file can be resized by the user to suit their particular needs. Go Micro or Macro - depending on the situation.
