In this video we used 3/4 Birch Plywood and a Kreg Jig Pocket Hole Kit to make walls that are only 3/4's of an inch thick. This method may not work for every wall but for this application where we were separating the bedroom from the rest of the bus and building closets at the same time it worked well. Because we will have 2 shelves (video completing the closets is coming soon), these plywood walls will be plenty sturdy and the result is that no studs are necessary.
The Kreg Jig has been a big part of our Skoolie build and it has been a fantastic and simple tool to use. If you buy from this link, you'll be supporting us with just a little bit of an affiliate commission. Sweet!
This is the one that I bought: https://amzn.to/2qwpiJW
But since I seem to be just using my hands to clamp the jig if you're up for that too you could save $40 and skip the clamp and buy this one instead: https://amzn.to/2JGCfcS
And you'll need lots of these as well: https://amzn.to/2F5BM5k I keep wasting my money buying 100 of these at a time. Buy 500 and save some money! It seems weird but if you're doing what I'm doing you're going to need them.
Okay I'm out. Please ask questions!!!
