Dead Space Remake Ingame OST - 54 Medical Deck Transition (CH2)
Hello guys! I’m really excited to finally share the result of my latest project with you all. 😁
Ever since I started diving deeper into the music of the Dead Space series, I feel like I’ve become an even bigger fan of these games. After successfully putting together the in-game soundtrack albums for the first two entries, I originally planned to move on to Dead Space 3.
However, in the meantime I managed to open the files of the Dead Space Remake using Frosty Editor and extract the music from it. That completely shifted my priorities, and I immediately started working on this project instead.
I have to say — this turned into a massive album. With more than 300 tracks, it’s by far the biggest one I’ve worked on so far. I’m really proud of it, because I managed to organize all the musical material into a structured and (hopefully) enjoyable album format.
One very important thing to clarify:
The music of the remake was composed by Trevor Gureckis, not Jason Graves, who composed the original games. The remake features a large amount of completely new music, but it also incorporates several tracks from the original Dead Space and even Dead Space 2.
However, many of these reused tracks have been re-mastered and sound noticeably different compared to their original versions. These are not simple one-to-one copies. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of this change — some of these tracks feel slightly muffled, almost like they’re coming from a box. I double-checked multiple times, and unfortunately this seems to be an intentional design choice.
Another major difference is how the music system works compared to the original games. The layering structure has changed slightly. In the earlier titles, each musical sequence typically consisted of four layers: 2 ambient layers (Ambient 1–2) -- 1 combat/chase layer (Layer 3) -- 1 peak combat layer (Layer 4)
These layers would dynamically stack based on how much stress Isaac was under at any given moment.
In the remake, however, ambient and combat layers can blend together more freely. Because of this, you may notice more variations and combinations within the album compared to previous projects.
While assembling this album, I tried to find a balance between completeness and listenability. My goal was to include all musical content — layers, variations, and combinations — while still keeping the experience enjoyable and not overly fragmented.
I think I managed to find that balance, and I’m honestly really proud of how it turned out.
Thank you for listening, and I really hope you’ll enjoy it. 😁❤️
