Here are each position groups’ grades for Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s squad heading into Dallas Cowboys training camp:
Quarterbacks: A-
Running backs: B+
Wide receivers: A+
Tight ends: B-
Interior offensive line: A
Offensive tackles: C
Interior defensive line: A-
Edge rushers: B-
Inside line backers: C+
Cornerbacks: C
Safetys: A-
Special teams: A-

The Cowboys roster spot with one of the worst grades is the offensive tackle room, with a ‘C’ grade. At tackle they have Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele in line to start. Steele has been shaky as of late and we need to see more of the old version. Tyler Guyton also needs to step up, after he showed flashes of his high upside in 2025. He’s a player with good size, mobility and the athletic ability to be a dominant tackle. He just needs to stay healthy and perform at a more consistent level and if these two players can do those things, the Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle room will look a lot better.

The Cowboys cornerback room was the other position group graded with a C by Tom Downey. The cornerbacks are a big question mark right now. There are a lot of bodies in the CB room, but how many of them can be consistent starters? Daron Bland and Cobie Durant look to be the starters on the outside right now, with Shavon Revel Jr. looking to get a bigger role after a disappointing rookie season. While Caleb Downs expects to play in the nickel a lot, he’s considered more of a safety, so he wasn’t considered for this grade.
