Kelty Noah's Tarp 12 with a Bridge Hammock - Hammock Camping with the Warbonnet Ridgerunner

In this video I show the Kelty Noah's Tarp 12 with my Warbonnet Ridgerunner bridge hammock and test it in storm mode for winter camping trips where I'd expect heavy snow and wind...although on this trip I had a beautiful day and 47-85 Fahrenheit for temps. The idea was to stake it directly to the ground and close the doors to be completely protected from the elements.

I also show a simple way to make adjustable guylines and how to more easily close the tarp doors using tarp clips and guylines because the tarp is catenary cut from corner to corner. In the future I would replace the tarp clips with sewn on loops for tie outs to save weight.

Unfortunately, the bridge hammock suspension V's out to much, preventing the tarp doors from closing. It should still work great with a gathered end hammock and I plan on testing it again later in the year with my Warbonnet BlackBird XLC.

To deploy and pack up the tarp I used a quick DIY Shower Loofah tarp sleeve for $1.oo and Dynaglide for the ridgeline with Dutchware Titanium Hooks and Tarp Flyz. The guylines where Nite Ize reflective cord/rope. The tarp clips used on the doors are EasyKlip tarp clips and are pretty light weight and strong compared to other tarp clips. Their motto is "The harder the pull, the tighter the grip." You can find them at hardware stores, Amazon.com and Walmart.

The Kelty Noah's Tarp 12 footer is a great balance between size, weight and PRICE and can be set up in several configurations perfect for hammock camping. You can usually find it at many popular stores from Cabela's to Amazon.com.
