Romania - the country we tried to avoid by crossing to Ukraine and then taking a ferry to Turkey. People said it's not safe, we'll get robbed, police will try to take advantage of us...but guess what, fate (and us losing our van registration papers) forced us to drive through Romania and we had a blast!
