Why Zhen and The Chameleon Exist in KUNG FU PANDA 4

Kung Fu Panda 4 is about gender equality and here’s why.

No. 1, The previous villains in all 3 movies: Tai Lung, Shen & Kai are all male. You see, villains are usually shown to be “better” than the hero in certain ways. So in the name of gender equality, Dreamworks created a female Chameleon to show that girls can be better too, not just boys.

No. 2, The purpose of Zhen becoming the next Dragon Warrior is to show that women can also earn the title as they are created equally strong as the men. Because Po had previously became the Dragon Warrior, and now, it’s the woman’s turn to earn the title.

And no. 3, Having Zhen and the Chameleon would certainly attract more female viewers to watch the movie. Because imagine if the next Dragon Warrior is Tai Lung and the new villain is a male (again), then KFP4 becomes the boys’ movie.
