Bear Grylls Survival Knife Non-Review

This is a non-review on the very famous Bear Grylls Survival Knife. It comes with a sheath, sharpener, whistle and survival manual. It's made by Gerber and it has a serrated edge.

If you like this knife then I respect that. It's just not good for me. There are several reasons why I don't care for this style of knife most notably the serrations.

What's interesting is that in his earlier shows I never saw Bear use a knife that had serrations. Maybe I missed a couple but I don't think so. Why the serrations on his Gerber version then?

For bushcraft a straight edge blade is superior. Serrations are meant for cutting synthetic materials like plastic, webbing, seat belt, aluminum, etc.

For search and rescue (SAR) applications this knife may useful but for bush craft it's a no for me.
