47 /Life of the Prophet(saw): Medina is ready for you
Why was the Prophet (saw) taken to al Aqsa mosque when he could have been taken directly to receive the command regarding the daily prayers? It was to emphasize the importance of al Aqsa mosque. Hadith tell us there are only 3 mosques worth traveling to: Masjid al-Haram (Mecca), Masjid an-Nabawi (Medina), and al-Aqsa (al Quds).
The mushrikeen did not believe the night journey happened and mocked the Prophet (saw). They challenged the Prophet (saw) to describe what he saw. So he (saw) mentioned some travelers who did verify all the he (saw) had said. But still the mushrikeen did not believe. Abu Baqr believed and earned the title as Sidddiq.
The Bait Al Aqaba (agreement made while in the town called Al Aqaba) was taken by 6 men (plus another man to total 7) that the Prophet (saw) had met and converted in a previous year's Hajj. The Bait Al Aqaba was an agreement not to do shirk, steal or do adultery, and not to kill the children. For the ones that kept this promise they would collect their reward from Allah and whoever broke this agreement it was left up to Allah swt to punish that person in this life or in the Hereafter.
Mus'ab bin 'Umair, a young man, was the first Muslim Ambassador of Islam. He was sent to Medina (Yathrib) to talk about Islam. He was so successful it was said there was not one house in Medina, except that there was at least one Muslim in it.
One time Mus'ab and As'ad were approached aggressively by the tribal Chief Usaid. With spear in hand, Usaid told them they needed to leave town or stop talking about Islam. As a well spoken man, Mus'ab offered to talk about Islam and if Usaid was not pleased, they would leave. After hearing (and understanding) Quran, Usaid asked how to convert to Islam. Mus'ab and As'ad were approached by another tribal Cheif named Sa'd and the same series of events took place. After Sa'd's conversion, he went to speak to his own tribe. His tribe respected him greatly and all of them, except one man, converted. That one man eventually converted the day of the Battle of Uhud and was martyred. He was known for gaining a great reward with very little work.
NOTE: Part of the success in dawah is having a good personality, trustworthiness, and having other good characteristics.
