Making a Wood Pizza Cutting Board

I have finally made an end grain wooden cutting board. It is a pizza cutting board that looks like a pepperoni pizza. The construction of the cutting board is a center ring of yellow heart made of 12 triangular segments. Around that with a random curvy edge is a ring of cherry wood making the crust of the pizza. Inserted into the top of the board are 22 slices of pepperoni made from padauk. I milled the edge between the cheese and the crust and the holes for the pepperoni on a CNC router. I used a more traditional segment making method on the table saw to make the segments for the cheese and crust.

Pizza dough recipe
I start with 2 cups of warm water and this is the only thing I measure carefully. To that dissolve about a tablespoon of sugar, then gently mix in about a tablespoon of dry active yeast. Let that sit for about 10 minutes, until the yeast bubbles. Then add about 3 cups of flour, one of which is usually whole wheat. Mix that for a few minutes and add about a teaspoon of salt. Also add a tablespoon or so of olive oil. This helps the dough spread out thin when making the pizza crust. Put the dough hook in the mixer and add more flour until you have sticky thick dough. Then kneed for a few minutes (using the mixer or by hand). Then place a damp towel over the bowl and let the dough sit for an hour or so until it rises. This gives me two pizzas worth of dough. Divide the dough and make your pizzas.
