Yesterday after teaching I was in my kitchen looking for some layered sounds for a drum clinic I have in Poland in a couple of weeks at a drum camp for kids, mainly for the purpose that “sound” and “inspiration” is absolutely everywhere and anything can be a layered sound if you can hear it and everything that makes noise can be musical

After I layered the sounds I was looking for, I started recording some rhythms in different time signatures and weaving the textures together (a bit of an obsession of mine) after a few hours of working everything out and thinking about all the phrasings, I decided to push it a little further with a small kit in the kitchen and explore it further and this came out…

The knives are phrasing in 5
The cup and bowl are in 11
The lights are in 3
The pans are in 7 as is the sink, then it all gets even weirder!

Yes I know Its not for everyone but its great to use the mind to create music, and isn’t music amazing…
