GOP Holds Virtual 2020 National Republican Convention

The fourth and final night of the 2020 Republican National Convention will feature President Donald Trump’s speech accepting his party’s nomination to run for another term.

Breaking with tradition, the president will speak from the South Lawn of the White House.
Thursday’s theme is “Land of Greatness.” Here’s a look at the evening’s main events, starting at 8:30 p.m. New York time, and where to see them:
Thursday’s Marquee Speakers

Slated to speak: Trump, Ivanka Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Housing Secretary Ben Carson, Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, Representative Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey and Ja’Ron Smith, adviser to the president.

Additional speakers include Alice Johnson who was pardoned by Trump after a campaign by Kim Kardashian for him to, UFC president Dana White, Ann Dorn whose husband, a police officer, was killed in St. Louis, Carl and Marsha Miller, parents of a U.S. aid worker killed by ISIS, and evangelical leader Franklin Graham.

What to Watch
-Trump’s speech will be the starting gun for the final stretch of campaigning before the election.
-Ivanka Trump, who has taken a prominent and controversial role in the administration, will introduce her father.
-McConnell’s office initially said he would not be speaking but then reversed that decision.
-Giuliani frequently goes off script and was deeply involved in the Ukraine affairs that --Trump was impeached for earlier this year.
-Cotton is said to be considering a 2024 presidential run.
