Anything can become an idol - even our work.

At the workplace, we often become slaves to identity, security, approval or even people, forgetting that true freedom is found in Jesus Christ. If work is worship, then who are we truly worshipping at work?

This sermon challenges us to identify the hidden idols that quietly consume our hearts, demand sacrifice, and eventually burn us out, often without us even realizing it.

Through Romans 12:2, we are reminded:
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Jesus invites us to exchange the hard taskmaster for the humble King, One who shares our burden and gives us rest.

• In Christ, we find our true identity
• In Christ, we have lasting security
• In Christ, we are fully affirmed

Colossians 3:23 reminds us:
“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”

God sees not only our work, but also the heart behind it. Let us move from striving for the world to working wholeheartedly for the One whose opinion of you never changes and whose approval never fades.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28
