Lachlan Kingsford - How To Write Awful Unmaintainable Code

Lots of the basic principals of writing code that your team will understand in the not-so-distant future, and that enable your team to 'play well with others' aren't so basic or universal after all.

In order to learn the basics of the right thing to do - I'm going to show a bunch of anti-examples (gleaned from things I've witnessed - or committed) to show how you can maximize the WTFs per line of code. We'll cover topics like enigmatic versioning, ineffective naming, version lack-of-control and using AI to do what it does best: add lots of lines of code!

By intentionally looking at real world ways that teams have made their code awful and unmaintainable, we're going to learn the basics of writing code that you're going to be able to maintain in the future.
