Fresh out of the barn, stored since 1978! 1966 Pontiac 2dr ht & a boar named Moses!!!!
Tonight, we have a fun video! A few weeks ago, I got a call about a 1966 Pontiac. It was a little ways away from me, but the owner wanted to make sure the car didn't end up going to scrap. We worked out a deal and I headed North!
The owners already had the car pulled out of the shed where it had been stored in 1978. The shed where this car had been stored was recently damaged in a wind storm. The shed is going to have to come down, so they decided they needed to do something with the car. Since the car had been in the family since 1968, they wanted to make sure that someone was going to get some use out of it, either for parts or possibly restore it.
I will have a video up on this cars fist bath in 44 years and a full walk around up soon, but I really wanted to share this car's story with everyone!
In tonight's video, Barbara shares some of her stories with the car and her family's history with it!
After we got the car home, I got a text from Barbara. When we did the video, she forgot to mention a very important part of this cars history, so I added it to the text part of this video!
After college when they were first married, they didn't really have any money to start their farming operation. They had saved up enough money to buy 10 gilts(young adult female pig), but couldn't afford to buy a boar to breed them. Barbara's husband had found a boar for $110.00, but they didn't have the money.
The young couple lived between two small towns. Her husband went to the bank in one of the towns, but the banker told him that $110.00 was too much for a boar and he could find one for $100.00. He then traveled to the bank in the other town and told the banker his story. That banker was willing to loan him the $110.00, as long as he had collateral. He put this exact Pontiac up for collateral, the bank loaned him the money to buy the boar, and the young couple was off on a long, successful life in the world of agriculture!
All of these old vehicles have stories to tell! It's always great when we get the story behind them and we can document them on the video!
If you like old cars, trucks, and automobilia, be sure to check out all of my other videos! Please subscribe so you can keep up with the new videos as I post them!
If you have questions about vehicles or parts, the only way to get a hold of me is to call me, 8 AM-8 PM CST, no texts.
If I don’t answer, I’m probably on the phone with someone else and if you don’t leave me a message, I just assume you're another telemarketer trying to sell me an extended warranty! LOL!
If you comment, message, text, e-mail, etc., don't expect me to find it and don't expect an answer. Thanks for watching, Chad 620-786-4428
