Alaska Alone - Too Much Tide (part 19)

I set up my camp in the dark and misjudged the high tide which flooded into my tent in the middle of the night soaking me and all my gear. Bears search for food around my camp for most of the morning. As the weather clears I go in search of the portage outlined on the map at the end of Portage Bay. The only portage route, a shallow river, was blocked by huge fallen trees. This route proves impossible for my kayak.. I turn around and start back down Portage Bay and find just enough dry weather to dry out my gear.
