Who Are the Fruitless Branches in John 15? - James Jennings

John 15:2 says, "Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away.." who is this referring to? Since they are "in me(Christ)" does it mean it's a believer who has lost their salvation? Or is it someone proving to not be a true disciple?
