Google cloud benchmarks and best practices

In "Google cloud benchmarks and best practices", we chatted with Steve Deitz, a Google software engineer focused on GCP performance, and talked through practical guidance on how to get the best performance from GCP.

Earlier this year, we published the 2020 Cloud Report and each public cloud provider weighed in on how we could optimize their environments. Google engineers responded and were willing to join us for a discussion of Google Cloud benchmarks and google cloud best practices.

Our friends at GCP have been great about working directly with us so that we could get a better understanding of their environment and now we would like to share this conversation with you.

We will talk through:

- Insight into the GCP approach to performance and open source resources
- Default CLI vs standard UI deployment setting on GCP
- GCP improvement made last year for networking and machine types
- Tips for building and deploying highly available apps
